The first Pathways to Politics was held in July, 2004, and Girl Scouts from twenty-one states and as far away as France and Japan participated. Pathways to Politics is CAWP’s first program designed to reach a high-school age audience.

Research
 •
CAWP's research – focusing most often on women in public office – addresses emerging issues and questions about the status and impact of political women. CAWP's studies have shown that women bring new issues to the public agenda and open up government to fresh ideas and different voices. Recent research has updated earlier CAWP findings about the impact of women in state legislatures and compared women's efforts in the 103rd and 104th Congresses.
