The Awards Committee has the responsibility of screening the
nominations for the President's Award for Excellence in Administration.
The committee reviews all nominees in depth, then prepares a list of
ten finalists for the consideration of the President of the
University, who usually chooses the four award recipients from the
committee's list. Since, however, it is the President's
Award, the president reserves the right to select one or more
recipients elsewhere than from the list supplied by the committee.
The Awards Committee also selects recipients for the annual
Meritorious Service awards given by the Administrative Assembly to
individuals who have provided outstanding service to the Administrative
Assembly and its constituency during the year. These awards are
presented at the Assembly's Annual Luncheon, usually held following
the Annual Meeting and elections of officers in December.
Committee also plans and implements special events scheduled
throughout the year.
