December 17, 1997 Date: Wed, 17 Dec 97 13:41 EST From: Rich Bird Subject: letter to administrator to the editor, I have always felt that those privileged to hold the resources of the press have a covenant under our system to use them responsibly. For that reason I always get distressed and disappointed when the editors of targum indulge themselves in publishing a Mugrat. I got a similar reaction to reading the article, "Employee Compensation Prog Under Review", in the December issue of the Administrator. You saw fit to devote almost half of your issue to an uninformative exercise in self-entertainment by the author. I know how difficult it is to find material to publish in a newsletter, but please use our resources more responsibly. Perhaps fewer pages. May 16, 1997 Letter to the Editor, Administrative Assembly9 year old Stephanie Devine, daughter of Gail Devine, a university employee was seriously injured in a car accident on Wednesday, May 7. Stephanie will require extensive surgery along with a length hospital stay. She is listed in critical condition at this time and her prognosis has improved. Gail, a member of the Payroll department of the university is also injured and cannot use her right arm but is expected to recover sometime in June. Stephanie will also need rehabilitation after she is discharged from the hospital and is not expected to return to school before January 1998. Gail and Stephanie's experiences are very traumatic and the amount of pain and suffering along the road to recovery is long and arduous for the Devine family. Anyone interested in helping them can make a donation to "Gail Devine" and send it to the Payroll Department, ASB, c/o Ruth Dugan, ext. 2113.
