Minutes of December 20, 2002 Administrative Assembly Meeting
Agenda approved
President Olszewski called the meeting to order at 12:17pm.
The following were present: Charles Olszewski, Rob Toth, Doug Reichert, Anneliese Grasemann, Carol Bradley, Sue Beaudrow, Charlotte Fuller, Rick Crispin, Gloria Meyer, Tina Sohn
Deferred approval of September minutes to next meeting.
President Olszewski handed over the Presidency to VP/President Elect, Doug Reichert before the end of the meeting. Charlie's last day with the University is on January 3, 2003.
Suggested that we ask Sandy Russell for the list of all eligible A/P/S staff so we can plan for our annual elections. Also suggested that the Assembly think about manning the phone in the office space in ASB Building on Monday and Fridays.
There were no other Executive committee reports.
There were two motions presented to the Assembly body. One from Sue Beaudrow and one from Doug Reichert. (To review the motions please click here.)
Sue's motion was seconded by Tina Sohn. The motion was passed with 7 yea's and 1 nay. The nay objected saying that the use of social security numbers is just a "way of life" at the University and to get people to change would be a very difficult thing.
Doug's motion was seconded and called to question. The call to question was approved by unanimous vote. It was resolved that instead of re-writing the bylaws to reflect a change in meeting schedule, have the body vote on the call of "special meetings" to take place during the off months. This way if there is nothing of any relevance the meeting can be cancelled.
Doug Reichert was also putting together a survey to send out to all delegates to find out "why they joined, what is keeping them in the assembly, why they are not attending meetings and what they think the goals fo the Assembly should be.
Next meeting Friday, January 17, 2003
Meeting adjourned 1pm
Minutes respectfully submitted by Robert Toth
