FIRST-LINE BREAKDOWN: 2nd digit = period designation; 3rd and fourth digits = country designation; 5th character (for 4800) = century

SECOND-LINE BREAKDOWN: first two digits = manuscript type; following four characters = collection (abbreviation of the city and library)

THIRD-LINE BREAKDOWN: Three-letter abbreviation for the generic name of the manuscript and folio number; e.g., Par112 (Paris Psalter, f.112)
