Testimonies of the Global Tribunal on Violations of Women's Human Rights

Testimonies compiles the full transcripts of 33 testimonies by women from 25 countries presented at the "Global Tribunal on Violations of Women's Human Rights" at the UN World Conference on Human Rights (Vienna, 1993). The testimonies give compelling voice to violations of a wide spectrum of human rights: human rights abuses in the family; war crimes against women in conflict situations; violations of women's bodily integrity; socio-economic violations of women's human rights; and gender-based political persecution and discrimination. This book is a tool that can be used to continue the process of documenting abuses and raising awareness of women's rights as human rights.

Compiled by Niamh Reilly, Center for Women's Global Leadership, 1994; 79 pages. US$15
