DEPARTMENTAL AWARDS:

Murray and Helen Buell Scholarship For rising junior and seniors in the Dep. of Ecology, Evolution and Natural Resources based on academic merit with preference for students who participate in undergraduate research.

Karen Smoyak Hoffman Student Prize for Natural Resource Management For students majoring in natural resource management, based on academic merit, leadership skills, interest in research, and a commitment to the advancement of natural resource management.

Bruce A. Hovland Memorial Scholarship in Forestry For a student majoring in natural resource management with a forestry option; based on academic merit and financial need

Teuvo Airola Memorial Award For Excellence in Environmental Geomatics

Robert Hanna Soil and Water Conservation Club Award For undergraduate students majoring in plant science, environmental science, natural resource management, and related fields, with interest in soil and water conservation, involvement in the club, and academic merit

Michael Kuser Award For an outstanding junior or senior based upon merit, leadership, financial need, and interest in natural resource management and applied ecology

Jacob Groendyke Award For a student majoring in horticulture, forestry, and related fields; based on academic merit, financial need, demonstrated interest, and New Jersey residency

Robert P. Claus Memorial Endowed Scholarship Fund For a student enrolled in the Teaching Education Program; based on academic merit and financial need

Philip Alampi Scholarship Awarded to students with academic and leadership qualities and community service in an agriculture/environment related field

Dana Eve Roth Memorial Award Fund For a student with a 3.5 cumulative grade-point average and an avid interest in animals

Samuel and Berta Thomson Brown Memorial Award Awarded to students in an environmental related major

New Jersey Forest Foundation Scholarships For juniors, seniors or graduate students studying forestry or a related discipline,   $1000 and up.

John B. Schmitt Award For a student who demonstrates an interest in entomology

Cook General Honors/Amelia L. Ruggles Award For incoming first-year students with high academic promise who participate in the four-year honors program. Awards are subject to renewal.

Cook College/CAES Award  Awarded based on merit

William J. Martin Award For a high-performing student who is preparing to enter graduate school

Frank A. Golbey Fund For students who reside in Helyar House, Cook College`s cooperative living community; $5000+.

Ernest A. Spinello Jr. Memorial Scholarship Cook/Douglass Recreational Services award for students participating in any capacity in recreation programs at the university, and have a record of community and/or student life service, based on academic merit and financial need

Murray and Helen Buell Scholarship Fund Based on academic merit and financial need, with preference to environmental science majors

Jonathan Forsell Memorial Scholarship Awarded to students studying plant science, biology, or  entomology based on academic merit and volunteer activity

Hamo Hachnasarian Scholarship Awarded to students majoring in agricultural or biological sciences, based on academic performance

Cook Educational Assistance Grant Awarded based on academic merit.

Elizabeth and Arthur Reich Urban and Minority Access Project For students majoring in environmental sciences or related majors with demonstrated academic performance at the high school and college levels, minimum cumulative grade-point average of 2.8, financial need, and interest in related activities and graduate study.

Parents Association Awards

$1,500 Grant Walton Award Entering junior and seniors. Academically outstanding Cook student who has demonstrated outstanding service and leadership.


$1,500 "Against All Odds" Award Entering sophomores, juniors, and seniors. Cook student who has succeeded through personally challenging circumstances, not based on GPA; ex. Handicapped student, single mother, etc/ 1-page written statement explaining challenges by student and recommendation letter by faculty/staff to Dean Joseph Ventola.

Class Scholarships $500-$1,000 awards; scholarship requires student's family being a member of the Parents' Association. All classes can apply, including graduating seniors. Applicants must be in good standing and will be evaluated on their involvement in community and/or campus activities, academics and leadership. 1-page written statement explaining activities and resume to Dean Joseph Ventola.

Heritage Scholarship For an entering first-year student based on academic merit, with preference to the daughter/son/grandchild of the school's alumni.

Upper-Class Scholarships For all class years; based on academic merit and financial need. Additional consideration will be based on a broad spectrum of student leadership activities including university or community volunteerism, university or community club participation, campus leadership activities, or any related areas of leadership participation.

Marquand Park For a student who has an interest in studying and preserving the trees of Marquand Park in Princeton, New Jersey.

Richard Walter/Maplewood Garden Club Scholarship For students majoring in plant science, landscape architecture, horticulture engineering, or natural resource management; based on academic merit and financial need.

Winston E. Parker Memorial Awarded by Moorestown Rotary Charities to a junior, senior, or graduate student studying forestry, arboriculture, ornamental horticulture, or related areas. Based on academic performance, financial need, and residency in the New Jersey counties of Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester, or Salem. Download Application Here.
