National Mosquito Control Awareness Week

To increase the public's awareness of the activities of the various mosquito research and control agencies within the United States and around the world, the American Mosquito Control Association sponsored the creation of National Mosquito Control Awareness Week. This resolution received wide support and New Jersey Mosquito Control Association celebrated the recognition of the efforts of all mosquito control workers at Liberty State Park.

Both the New Jersey State Senate and Assembly have recognized the impact of the efforts of mosquito control workers to increase the safety and comfort of the citizens in the Garden State. NJMCA also celebrated this recognition in Trenton.

Governor Christine Whitman has proclaimed June 20 to June 26, 1999 as Mosquito Control Awareness Week in recognition of the work done my the mosquito control community to protect the public health and well-being.
