The cervix or neck of the damselfly or dragonfly (Odonata) consists of mostly membranous cuticle with only three small sclerites - this areas is probably not strong enough to withstand a very strong hold. Besides that, the cervix is relatively unexposed, being covered by the head and prothorax.
