Hemipterans are hemimetabolous insects, but so are the Orthopterans, Isopterans, and Homopterans. The larvae of hemimetabolous insects usually resemble the adult except the larvae are smaller, lack winds, and genitalia. The larvae will also have characteristic features not found in the adult form.
