Three letters from President Lawrence acknowledging receipt
of the Senate’s advice, and outlining plans for implementing Senate recommendations.
All were distributed to the Senate at the February 23, 2001 meeting. The
Senate resolutions covered are on:
a Revised Fee Structure for Full-Time University College
the Draft University Policy on Parental Notification; and
Student Financial Management and Credit-Card Debt.
Charge to University Structure and Governance Committee to:
"Review and comment on the Proposal to Establish Rutgers University College
of Applied and Professional Studies (RU-CAPS), dated February 14, 2001,
from the Office of the Vice President for Continuous Education & Outreach."
Consideration of charge regarding Livingston Fellows’ concern
regarding the faculty’s role in undergraduate admissions, discussed at
January 12, 2001 Executive Committee meeting. Arlene Walker-Andrews’ update
on New Brunswick Faculty Council’s Admissions and Recruitment Subcommittee
work on this issue, including information gathered from deans, and a scheduled
March 19 meeting with Corinne Webb.
Consideration of charge to Equal Opportunity Committee on
issue raised by Senator Keating at January 26 Senate meeting regarding
benefits for domestic partners of unmarried heterosexual Rutgers employees.
